Biographical Statement: I am a master’s student in the School of Earth and Climate Sciences working with Professor Andrei Kurbatov. I am originally from northern New Jersey, and I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geology from Colgate University in 2025. My undergraduate research began with fieldwork in the Gulf of Mexico analyzing bivalves to investigate environmental change. I soon shifted to a research project on Augustine Volcano in Alaska, where I had the opportunity to conduct fieldwork. For my senior thesis, I analyzed tephra grain size and componentry to reconstruct the explosivity of an eruption from 750 years before present.
Research Area: My research will be focused on using hyperspectral imaging to analyze volcanic particles in ice cores.
