Research Assistant Professor – Climate Change Institute
Cooperating Faculty – School of Biology & Ecology
Isaac Overcast is a Research Assistant Professor in CCI and cooperating faculty in the School of Biology & Ecology. He is a computational biologist whose research focuses on understanding how ecological and evolutionary processes interact to generate and maintain biodiversity across spatial and taxonomic scales. His work combines computational modeling, community-scale genetic data, and machine learning to study the structure and “genetic health” of ecological communities and to predict how biodiversity will respond to global change.
