Biographical Statement: Originally from Carmel, California, I received my B.A. in Marine science from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduation, I worked two seasonal positions for 5 years before pursuing my PhD at the University of Maine. In the winter and spring, I was an Assistant Scientist for Sea Education Association where we conducted oceanographic research aboard a traditional 2-masted tall-ship in the North Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. In the summer and fall, I was a Biological Science Technician for Yosemite National Park where I conducted back country restoration to improve habitat for endangered amphibians. Since 2020, I have lived in Maine where I have been pursing my PhD in the Ecology and Environmental Sciences Program.

Research Area: During my PhD, I will be working to characterizing the ecological dynamics of fish environmental and sedimentary DNA (sedDNA) in Maine lakes, with a focus on anadromous species such as alewives. In particular, I will be working to establish rates of fish sedDNA transport, accumulation, and degradation as well as exploring historic reconstructions of fish communities spanning the past 200 years.
