Biographical Statement: Deirdre is an Anthropology and Environmental
Policy PhD student who works with Dr. Bonnie Newsom in the Northeast
Archaeology Lab.

Research Area:  Deirdre is is interested in how historic preservation
policy can be created in partnership between land conservation
organizations, descendent communities, and archaeologists to improve
the management of archaeological sites at-risk due to erosion and
development impacts. Deirdre also uses remote sensing in her work to
document erosion rates for coastal shell heap sites. An interest in
working collaboratively to develop policies with public impact is what
guides Deirdre’s research.
