Biographical Statement:  Andrea Tirrell completed her undergraduate degree at Marlboro College, where she studied Biology with concentrations in Plant Ecology and Photography. During her time at Marlboro, she completed an undergraduate thesis consisting of research surrounding the ecology of a non-photosynthetic orchid and its fungal symbionts in the montane forests of Puerto Rico. Since then, she has worked in and traversed multiple biomes, including the deserts of the southwestern United States and the temperate forests of New England. As a new graduate student in the Ecology and Environmental Sciences program, Andrea is interested in threatened plant mutualisms in alpine communities and how climate change may be changing these relationships throughout New England.
