Faculty Advisor:  Dr. Bonnie Newsom

Office Location:  South Stevens (Northeast Archaeology Lab room)

Biographical Statement: I am a Master’s student in the Quaternary and Climate Studies program, focusing on the Archaeology of the Northeast. I grew up primarily in Maine and attended the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone, graduating in 2020. While focusing initially on Computer Science, my academic interests ultimately shifted towards Anthropology, with a particular focus on Archaeology specifically. I received my undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Maine in 2025, with minors in International Affairs and Computer Science.

Research Area:  My research will focus largely on the use of copper by the pre-contact Indigenous peoples of the Northeast/Maritimes region. While copper in the North American context is primarily associated with the nearby Great Lakes region, its presence here potentially suggests a distinct local tradition with implications for North American archaeology more broadly.
