Professor Jefferson Cardia Simões (founding director of the Centro Polar e Climático, Instituto de Geociências
Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Vice President of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research and associated Professor in the Climate Change Institute) and many of his students have been frequent partners in many CCI research projects. In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Brazilian Antarctic research program, the Brazilian Academy of Sciences recently published a special issue that featured several contributions from Professor Jefferson Simões’s research group (selected links to articles below).
