Biographical Statement: I am a non-binary (they/them/theirs) PhD student working with Dr. Keith Evans (University of Maine) and Dr. Yong Chen (Stony Brook University), examining the adaptations and resilience to climate change in the Maine Lobster Fishery. I graduated from Swarthmore College with a BA in Biology and Economics. I studied abroad at James Cook University, Queensland AUS and focused on the Marine Sciences. After undergraduate, I worked as a fish culturist at Neet’s Bay Hatchery, Ketchikan, AK. Since coming to Maine I have lived on the coast in Wiscasset, working closely with Maine DMR and the lobster fishery and local coastal communities. I particularly enjoy the harvesting and consumption of seafood, as well as conversations concerning the cultural, ecological, and economic importance of seafood.
Research Area: My research focuses on building a climate-informed bio-economic model for the Maine Lobster Fishery, and examining the adaptation strategies and resilience in the fishery through a bio-economic, and socio-ecological systems (SES) analysis.
