Research Area:

As a physical geographer and conservation biologist I seek to understand the physical aspects of our world that create the patterns of biodiversity we see. This is an important concept for understanding how species will respond to climate change. Key questions that arise out of this are whether species can track climate shifts, and if so can species keep up with the rates they are occurring. Using clues from the past to answer my questions, I ultimately hope to influence ecosystem management strategies in order to best promote and sustain biodiversity for future generations to appreciate.
