In an article about ocean surface temperatures reaching a record high, EcoWatch cited data from the University of Maine Climate Reanalyzer showing that the daily sea surface temperature hit 21.1 degrees Celsius on April 1 and remained there through April 6. The recorded high beat the previous highest ocean surface temperature of 21.0 degrees Celsius, recorded in 2016.
