Media reports on UMaine-led study of Antarctic glaciers – S. Braddock & B. Hall

The Environmental News Network, Science Daily, Scienmag, ScienceNews, Phys.org and other international outlets reported on a University of Maine-led research study that found major glaciers in West Antarctica may be losing ice faster than they have in at least the last 5,000 years. At the current rate of retreat, the Thwaites and Pine Island glaciers, which extend deep into the heart of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, could contribute as much as 3.4 meters to global sea level rise over the next several centuries.
