Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (EPI Center) at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) – E. McConnell
Erin McConnell, a 2019 CCI MS graduate, was recently awarded an internship at the the new Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (EPI Center) at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Washington D.C. The EPI Center brings clearly and strategically communicated scientific evidence on a select number of public issues to decision-makers—from policymakers to parents— so they can better integrate scientific evidence into their decision-making process. The EPI Center is synthesizing studies on a number of timely topics important to a range of audiences including executive, legislative, and judicial branches of federal, state, and local governments, as well as private citizens. Erin will report to the EPI Center communications director, working to develop strategic communications targeting decision-makers. Erin will also work closely with the EPI Center’s two policy directors to conduct research on potential policy issues and key stakeholders.
