National Order of Scientific Merit – Jefferson Cardia Simões
Dr. Jefferson Cardia Simões will receive the National Order of Scientific Merit (Portuguese: Ordem Nacional do Mérito Científico) during an award ceremony in October 2018. This honor is bestowed to Brazilian and foreign personalities in recognition of their scientific and technical contributions to the cause and development of science in Brazil.
Dr. Simões is receiving this award for his contributions to Antarctic science.
