Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The driving goal of this conference is to develop strategies that engage under-represented students in Polar STEM and provide them with a better understanding of potential Polar STEM career field and non-field pathways.<\/p>\n

The conference is being hosted by the University of Maine in collaboration with the Juneau Icefield Research Program<\/a>(JIRP). To learn more about the success of JIRP and it’s potential for enhancing STEM experiences for high school students, check out this short video<\/a>. This summer, JIRP will be collaborating with Upward Bound<\/a> to create a field experience for nearly 50 high school students to Juneau, AK<\/p>\n

The conference will took place July 28-30th, 2022<\/strong> and will be held both virtually and in-person. For those attending in-person, the conference will be hosted at the University of Alaska – Southeast at the Egan Library in Juneau, Alaska.<\/p>\n
