I am graduate student / research assistant specifically interested in climate variation and glaciology. I recently graduated from Montana State University, Bozeman with a BS in the Earth Sciences (Geology program). While at MSU I conducted several independent studies, two of which were of great interest to me. Glaciation of the Shields River Headwaters, Crazy Mountains, MT explored three different glacial periods in an area otherwise unstudied. Trail Guides: Hyalite Canyon, Bozeman, MT created a website for the public to relate the beautiful sights they see while hiking to what events and forces caused such features.
I am currently working on the Roosevelt Island Climate Evolution (RICE) project, which will begin drilling ice in October of 2011. This research project should provide one of the highest resolution ice cores to date, on the scale of storm events from thousands of years ago.
